Premise

You are recorded constantly on the Underground. You never see the footage. This project uses a legal request to get it back — turning CCTV into material authored by the people who appear in it.

The Request

A Subject Access Request (SAR) is a legal request for footage TfL holds of you. They're legally required to respond within a month. It's usually free, and anyone else caught on camera will typically be blurred out.

Ask

Enter the Underground.

Pick a camera. Note its number if it has one.

No number? Note the exact location instead.

Perform an action for it — walk past, wave, whatever feels right.

Note the exact time, to the minute.

Note what you're wearing.
